Bollywood performing artist Hrithik Roshan and father Rakesh Roshan’s Khandala estate is currently under government scrutiny, post a RTI query by a previous Congress president of the Khandala area, Kiran Gaikwad. According to reports, Kiran Gaikwad said one of the plots – study number 181B, Maval Taluka, measuring 504 sq mt – belonged to the state government that includes another plot, survey number 182, which is meant for a burial ground.
However, Shakir Shaikh, official representative and in-charge of the project, said that the Roshans did not indulge in any illegal activities to acquire the land. “We finished the legal formalities and began building the compound wall. There has been no violation. If government plots were merged with ours, why didn’t the authority guarantee it? There was a specify of open space reservation but it belongs to our client,” said Shaikh.
Sachin Pawar, The Lonavala Municipal CEO, said the council will investigate the matter and scrutinise the documents.
