Udaipur: A married woman and her supposed lover were paraded naked and then tied together for two days and a night in a village in Rajasthan's Udaipur district, a media report said on Saturday.
According to reports, the incident took place at Kasotia village on Monday when a mob led by the woman’s husband Bhanwarlal Meena assaulted the couple and forced them on a ‘walk of shame’ in broad daylight as onlookers watched and recorded the incident. Spectators posted images of the incident online, but no one came forward to the rescue of the couple.
They were reportedly forced to take off all their clothes and were beaten and paraded them in the village in naked condition. Later The woman was rescued by the police on Friday after the incident came to light, while the man was released two days later after his family reportedly paid Rs 80,000 to the villagers.The report said 30 people were booked and 13, including the woman's husband and three women, were arrested, the report said.
