Rajasthan police headquarters (PHQ) will get a new state-of-the-art command and control centre — like Jaipur police’s Abhay control room. The state control room will get live video feed from all nine police ranges of the state.
The state control room will be connected to all nine police ranges of Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Kota, Bharatpur, Jaipur commissionerate and Jodhpur commissionerate. Additional DGP (law and order) NRK Reddy revealed to media that new control room will be developed with the help of department of data and technology and help PHQ to monitor situation in hours of crisis.
The top brass of Rajasthan police, including DGP would be able to get live feed in events such as communal clash, VVIP movements, and disaster relief, and move reserved police battalions accordingly. “The state control room won’t direct or interfere with everyday functioning of the range police control rooms, however in case we require direct access to the situation on the ground, we can pick it from them,” Reddy stated, including that work towards the development has started and should be operational in a month or two. The new integrated control room will come equipped with the centralised video walls that will have direct access to the control rooms of range police headquarters. “Our new control room won’t just give us a peak into the situation on ground zero, however it will likewise help us in planning our strategies related to law and order, crime control etc,” Reddy said.
The government had proposed to set up new integrated command and control centres over all divisional central command, the Jaipur police commissionerate was the first to launched the new control room whereas Kota control room is likewise said to be almost ready. Jaipur’s Abhay command and control centre has advanced facial recognition technology, number plate detection cameras etc.
