Rajasthan: MLA’s Gunman shoots wife in Sriganganagar, arrested


Jaipur:  Everyday scuffle of husband and wife took an ugly turn on Sunday when 43-year-old man shot at his wife at Odki under Hindumalkot village in Sriganganagar district. The accused is a constable with Rajasthan police and is working as a gunman with the Raisinghnagar MLA Sona Devi.

The woman sustained injuries on her thigh and is battling for life in a government hospital. According to the police, the incident took place at 12.30am on Sunday when the accused identified as Sahab Ram entered into a verbal spat with his wife. "When his wife was continuously arguing, Sahab Ram took his service revolver and opened fire at her. 

Soon after, he managed to flee from the scene," said a senior officer of Sriganganagar police on Sunday. The accused was arrested while the woman identified as Roshni is battling for life at a hospital in Sriganganagar. Only a day back, a man had shot a married woman and later committed suicide by shooting himself in Sriganganagar on Saturday.
