Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has issued notice to the Centre and the state government and the state Vidut Utpadan Nigam Ltd over alleged misuse of coal mining lease to VUNL to a private company.
Punit Singhvi, counsel for the petitioner said Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam has been allotted mines in pursuance of allotment agreement for Parsa East and Kanta Basan Coal Mines on March 10 2015.
The agreement categorically states that the power plants should be own solely by the allottee or its government subsidiary. But the petition alleged that Government has entered into an agreement with the private player wherein the ownership of the washery rejects has been given to the private company.
The washery rejects are now being used by the private players to establish a new power plant producing upto 1000 MWs of electricity on a buy back agreement from the private player by VUNL.
