Congress party clinched 27 seats on Tuesday in local body polls in 26 districts of Rajasthan whereas Bharatiya Janata Party secured 17 seats.
The polls in rural as well as urban areas of the state were carried out for Zila Parishad, Panchayat and municipal ward seats.
On Twitter, Congress state president Sachin Pilot stated that Congress had achieved big assistance in the local polls.
The party secured all the four zila parishad seats, 16 panchayat samiti seats, 6 nagar palika seats in the elections.
On the other hand, BJP clinched 10 panchayat samiti seats and 7 nagar palika wards.
The polling for panchayat samitis, nagar palikas and zila parishads were conducted on December 17.
The outcomes of civic by-polls are a hinder for the BJP as it vanished in the two nagar palika wards in Baran district of Rajasthan. While, BJP spokesperson Anand Sharma affirmed that the outcomes was good for BJP as it has secured various seats prior held by the Congress.
Congress clinched 19 seats in bypolls in the month of August whereas ruling BJP clinched only ten.
