Rahul Gandhi get death threats, Congress Leaders meet Home Minister


New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has received death threats. The senior leader Anand Sharma and Rajeev Shukla met Home Minister Rajnath Singh to demand adequate security for Rahul Gandhi.

A letter threatening to "blast" Gandhi was sent to a top Congress leader V Narayanswamy in Puducherry, where Gandhi is expected to address a rally on Tuesday.

The threat letter, according to Congress, is written in Tamil.

The letter alleges that Congress has been responsible for closure of industries in puducherry and threatens that Gandhi will be “blasted” when he addresses the Karaikal meeting.

Rahul Gandhi, along with other members of his family is protected by the Special Protection Group (SPG), the highest level of security in the country. Only Prime Ministers and former Prime Minister and their families are protected by the SPG, apart from the Gandhi family.
