Punjab RSS leader Gagneja dead at the age of 68


RSS Leader Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja was died after two bikers allegedly shot him on Thursday at Ludhiana’s Hero DMC Heart Institute. He was 68 years old.

Gagneja was the key speaker of RSS. In a poll-bound Punjab, he was a strong influencer.

Before joining Indian Army, Gagneja became the part of “pracharak” organization for over 40 years. In 2003, he became the right wing of “sanghchalak” organization in Jalandhar. Five years ago, Gagneja joined second-in-command of RSS in the Punjab.

On August 7, he was shifted to the heart institute from Patel Hospital in Jalandhar. He was shot by two bikers in a busy market of Jalandhar.

From Wednesday night, his condition got worst and his blood pressure fell rapidly on Thursday morning. The doctors revealed that multiple organ failure was the cause of death. His death occurred at 9.16 am.

RSS Leader Jagdish Gagneja was declared dead in the morning at 9.16 am. The post mortem was conducted at the heart institute.

Several  RSS and BJP Leaders including Phul Chand Jain, Anil Sarin, commissioner of police Jatinder Singh Aulakh and Ludhiana district’s additional deputy commissioner Rishi Pal reached to the hospital when they came to know about his news.

Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president Anil Sarin said, “The cremation will be held at 4pm at Ram Bagh in Jalandhar. Gagneja’s wife and two daughters were inconsolable as they headed for Jalandhar for the last rites.”

BJP members shaped a line outside the healing center funeral home while the body was being moved to an emergency vehicle after the posthumous was led. They raised mottos like 'Bharat mata ki jai' and 'vande mataram' and showered petals on him. The emergency vehicle left from Ludhiana for the incineration at 2.43 pm. Punjab senator VP Singh Badnore likewise achieved the healing facility to pay his sympathies. The Ludhiana police shaped a human chain outside the rescue vehicle as a component of security game plans.

After the police request hit a deadlock, the administration gave over the case to theCentral Bureau of Investigation. The legislature said the choice to move the case to CBI was taken to enlarge the test since the fundamental rationale in the assault on Gagneja was to aggravate peace in Punjab.
