Several students protested at the head post-office on Monday ordering that enrollment for medical seats through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) should be removed.
During the protest, the police officials took nearly 40 Naam Tamizhar Katchi Puducherry unit volunteers from private professional colleges, polytechnics and government-run colleges for interrogation.
The volunteers uttered slogans against the Puducherry government and demanded integrity for the demise of Dalit medical candidate Anitha. On September 1, Dalit girl allegedly attempted suicide at her residence in Ariyalur for not securing an MBBS seat. The reports revealed that she was going through depression when Tamil Nadu was not let off from NEET and had prior moved the Supreme Court against NEET.
As per aspirants marks in NEET 2017, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry medical seats have been fulfilled for 2017-18 year.
