Protesting For Cutting Of Trees, 20-Year-Old Girl Burnt Alive In Jodhpur Village


For protesting the cutting of trees a 20-year-old lady was burnt alive in her town close to Rajasthan’s Jodhpur on Sunday – an episode that has produced outrage and stun.

The police say the young lady, Lalita, had protested the cutting of trees in her farm for the development of a street close to the town, around 100 km from Jodhpur. The line raised and a gathering of villagers supposedly assaulted her, poured petrol on her and set her fire. She died in hospital at this morning.

The police say they are exploring charges that the sarpanch or leader of her town, Ranveer Singh, was among the individuals who set her on fire. 10 individuals have been named in the FIR or grievance.

Cop Suresh Chaudhary told leading news organization: “The sarpanch and other individuals poured petrol on her and burnt her alive. The body is in the funeral home. We will capture the denounced soon, after a reasonable examination.”
