The results of Pre Medical Entrance Test was declared on Wednesday. It was scheduled to be declared on June 15 but it was delayed as Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) got complaints regarding some questions. The exam was conducted in two shifts.
Faridkot boy, Lovish Gupta scored the highest marks in the Pre Medical Entrance Test while Arvind Gulati of Talwandi Bhai (Ferozepur) got the second position in the merit list while Patiala’s Sanil Garg came third.
More than 14,689 students appeared for the computer-based online test examination . The exam was scheduled in two shifts.
Around 67 percent of girls appeared for the test but top 7 ranks are secured by the boys.
Moreover, nine out of the first 10 ranks have been bagged by students of the Malwa region. Among those, Bathinda students got four ranks, Faridkot one, Patiala two, Ferozepur one and Mansa one. Arushi of Section 19, Chandigarh, got the seventh rank in open merit.
The percentile formula has been used by BFUHS to make the merit list . Earlier, the university used to rely on the percentage formula.
While the cut-off to pass this test was 74.8080088 percentile for general category candidates, for SC /BC category students, the cut-off was 48.1141003 percentile.
Online counselling for MBBS and BDS seats is expected to start in the coming days, said Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor, BFUHS.
