Pre-GST taxes to be paid on invoices raised before 1 July, says Hasmukh Adhia

New Delhi: On Friday Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia cleared that customers requires to pay only the taxes stated in the invoices which were produce prior to 1 July even if the payment cut following commencing of the goods and service tax (GST) in the nation.

Secretary further conveyed that bills produced by utilities and telephone service providers before the commencement of GST applying service tax.

The tax specified at the time of generating the invoice is what is to be paid, Adhia clarified following a workshop on GST in New Delhi.

Adhia also further added that the projected e-way bill system, an electronic transit pass for goods crossways state borders—will be in place within three months.
