Born on 28 November 1986, Indian actor Prateik Babbar is the son of late actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar. He started his career as a production assistant before pursuing an acting career. Since his debut in Bollywood, the actor has received such accolades as a Filmfare Award and a Stardust Award.

His first Bollywood film was ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ in the year 2008. Prateik garnered nominations at various award ceremonies including the Filmfares, Screen Awards, and the Stardust Awards for best debut, winning the last of the three. Other of his films are crime thriller Dum Maro Dum and the political drama Aarakshan, Dhobi Ghat and the romantic comedy My Friend Pinto.

After taking a long break from his acting career, Prateik Babbar is all set to enter a new chapter in his life.

In an interview, the actor talked about his struggles with drug addiction and how cocaine nearly look his life. “I almost lost myself. In 2015, I almost died of an overdose of cocaine. That’s what turned things around for me. And then I realized I had to get out there and go for what I wanted,’ said Prateik.

He further added by saying, “I am so glad that it’s all over and I have to just move forward with a smile on my face.”
