Political Storm in Uttarakhand: Rawat’s new sting video aired


New Delhi. An alleged sting video appearance before the vital floor test to be held on May 10 has raised the heat in Uttarakhand. Taking a dig at Chief Minister Harish Rawat, BJP accused him for bribing MLA’s.  The video is actually showing Congress MLA Madan Singh Bisht saying he had convinced former chief minister Harish Rawat to pay lakhs of rupees to Congress MLAs.


The video was broadcasted on Sunday by regional news channel Samachar Plus, which had done a sting previously on Rawat as well.


Meanwhile, Madan Singh Bisht has accused Harak Singh Rawat and his allies for threatening him. The fresh sting contains the conversation between Congress MLA Madan Singh and rebel Harish Rawat.  The face of Rawat is not visible in the sting but Madan Singh can be heard how Harish Singh Rawat managed to bribe 12 MLAs by giving Rs 25 lakh to each.


A sting was being done on Harish Rawat earlier also in the matter of money transactions. After initial refusal Harish Rawat accepted his presence in the sting video.


Uttarakhand BJP President Ajay Bhatt handed over the sting CD to the Governor KK Paul demanding legal action upon it. However the sting video clearly shows that Congress MLA is claiming that former Chief Minister has given 25 lakh rupees to12 MLAs.


Ex- CM claims it a plot against him accusing Central Agencies for keeping an eye on him. “My Phone lines are being tapped and our party legislators are receiving threatening calls.” He refused to have any knowledge about the sting. He purpoted BJP leader Kailash Vijaywargiya, former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and his son Saket Bahuguna to topple his elected government.


The sting video recorded the names of Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari, Anusuiya Prasad Maukhuri, Raja Bhandari and Ganesh Godiyal. Also, Madan Singh Bisht claims in the video how Harish Rawat collected more than Rs27 crore from the allotment of mining leases.
