Bhubaneswar: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday solicited the Ministry from Environment and Forests (MoEF) to submit report on the execution of its open hearing and stop work request at Polavaram venture site.
The Tribunal requested that the service present a status report inside two weeks on the undertaking and the Office Memorandum issued by it for halting the task.
"They (MoEF) have amplified the stop work request by four times for suspension. The Ministry has not put its stand legitimately before the NGT on it. The NGT requested that the Ministry document an affirmation once again on the advancement of people in general hearing in Chhattisgarh and Odisha" said a NGT counsel.
The Ministry had issued stop-work request in 2011 because of resistance of the condition for environment freedom, that is, by leading an open hearing in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Be that as it may, the Environment Ministry a year ago chose to keep the stop work request in temporary hold for a year, which lapsed in June this year.
The following hearing is booked for September 19.
Polavaram, which the Andhra Pradesh government cases is the "help of the state", has been announced as a national venture under the AP Reorganization Act, 2014.
