The invitation has been informally conveyed by Lucknow mayor Dinesh Sharma to the Prime Minister to attend the event.
For the first time, PM Modi will attend the festival at Lucknow. Earlier, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee went to Lucknow but never attended festival of Dussehra.
