PM Modi concludes eighth summit of the emerging-market bloc of BRICS


BENAULIM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi closed the eighth summit of the developing business sector alliance of BRICS in Goa, expressing gratitude toward alternate pioneers for their support to make the summit a win.

“We have adopted the Goa declaration that lays down a comprehensive vision for our cooperation within BRICS and on international issues,” Xinhua news agency quoted PM Modi as saying in a press conference on Sunday.

He said the establishment of the New Development Bank and the Contingency Reserve Arrangement are “indeed signature achievements”. BRICS is focused on fortifying meetings and participation on peace and security matters, he said, taking note of that the coalition is consistent in perceiving the danger that psychological warfare, fanaticism and radicalization show.
