PM Narendra Modi directed all the people during his Mann KI Baat on Sunday to take part in ‘Run for Unity’ on Tuesday to mark National Unity Day. The nation is recalling India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birthday today. He was considered as the “founding fathers of modern India.”
The celebration has been started by PM Modi who offer flowers at Sardar Patel’s sculpture and will quickly organize a Run for Unity marathon in New Delhi today.
During the event, Prime Minister headed the word of honor and a march past is likely to be held today by Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police at their own grounds.
As per the reports, International badminton Champ PV Sindhu, Indian women cricket team Captain Mithali Raj and hockey player Sardar Singh will take part in the marathon at the India Gate on the occasion.
31st October is considered as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in India. Following PM Modi ianugurated “Run for Unity” in New Delhi, several people collected at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium for the running to remember Sardar Patel and his involvement to India.
On the other hand, 31st October also marks the death anniversary of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The Congress party has blamed the Bhartiya Janta Party of not recognizing the involvement of the Iron Lady of India.
PM Narendra Modi stated, “It is our duty to keep Sardar’s legacy alive. When we celebrate 150 years of Sardar’s birth after 8 years, what example will we set of his principles? Every Indian should take a vow towards nation service for the 75th year of our Independence in 2022.”
