Pipe explosion at New York hub, culprit in custody


Bangladesh based man carried out bomb explosion at a New York customer center on Monday. The attacker himself got injured in the attack. The culprit was found as Akayed Ullah. He along with other cop officer had undergone several injuries.

Ullah belongs from Bangladeshi city of Chittagong, the country’s police chief affirmed. He came to Bangladesh on September 8, he added.

He made use of a pipe bomb to attack the people on Monday. Earlier, the attacks were held on September 11 year 2001 that takes the lives of over 2,750 people in New York and at least 3,000 people dead in the attack at World Trade Center explosion that took place on February 26 in year 1993.

The videos of incident have gone viral on the social media. It displayed smolder and a man lying in the tunnel that links Times Square subway station and the bus station.

The bus terminal was closed down for the time being and traffic at Manhattan was stopped. Following prior disturbance, subway train service was closed down.

As per the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, more than 200,000 people make use of Times Square station every day.

The explosion took place less than two months following an Uzbek refugee takes the lives of nearly eight people. It was reported that the attack was carried out by Islamic State.
