Phalodi: Assistant engineer of municipal council detained for taking inducement


The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday captured an assistant engineer of Phalodi municipal council for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a civil contractor. He had requested an inducement of Rs 10,000 from the contractor consequently of clearing bills of the works done by him. The blamed was likewise holding the charge for executive officer of the municipal council for past some time.

As indicated by SP (ACB) Ajay Pal Lamba, a civil contractor Rajesh Bohra had whined to the ACB that assistant engineer of Phalodi municipal council Amrit Lal Jatav had been requesting Rs 10,000 for clearing his bills worth Rs 2.19 lakh.

“As the main portion of this sum, Jatav made Bohra store Rs 2,800 in his extra security account as the arrangement premium,” said Lamba.

After verification of the complaint, ACB on Wednesday morning laid a trap at Jatav’s office at the municipal council, where he had requested that Bohra bring Rs 5,000, the second portion of the bribe.

“The minute Jatav acknowledged the sum and kept it in his pocket, the ACB group got him and recouped the cash,” Lamba said.

ACB has detained Amrit Lal Jatav and started an examination in the matter. They likewise did concurrent inquiries at his homes in Phalodi and Jaipur, in any case, nothing implicating could be found.

According to ACB, there were repeated objections against Jatav for looking for influence and he was on the radar of ACB.
