In the UP Asssembly, the explosive powder known as Pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) was stored in a plastic bag close to the seat of opposition leader of the opposition, Ram Govind Chaudhary. During the checkup by assembly staff, it was recovered by them. The reports revealed that 150 grams powder was recovered from the spot.

“500 grams of the substance (PETN) is enough to blow up entire Vidhan Sabha, and this was 150 grams… this can be called nothing less than a direct infiltration and now the NIA (National Investigation Agency) must probe it immediately,” Adityanath said.

“Despite being the biggest Vidhan sabha in the country, there was not enough security and whatever three-tier security system the establishment has no coordination.” he added.

In the existence of speaker Hirday Narayan Dikshit, UP Chief Minister also visited police and legislative staff members to analyze the safety of the assembly. The security agencies and Anti-Terrorist Squad have began investigation into the matter.
