Patna Pirates wins Pro Kabaddi League for third time, defeats Gujarat Fortunegiants


CHENNAI: Kabbadi team Patna Pirates thrashed Gujarat Fortunegiants 55-38 on Saturday to win Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 5 title at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Patna Pirates Player Pardeep Narwal scored 19 points alone to take a lead against the opponent team whereas Gujarat Fortunegiants Jaideep clinched 5 points and Sachin scored 11 points.

In the early match, Patna Pirates fight back before attack by Pradeep. His points helped the team to match the score by 15-15.

At half-time, Patna Pirates took a lead of 21-18 against Gujarat Fortunegiants.

Gujarat players Mahendra Rajput and Rohit Gulia clinched successful raid points in the second half of game but unfortunately they couldn’t win the game.

Though Patna Pirates, begin taking lead with a greater margin courtesy of Narwal who scored winning raid points every time he reached the opposition mat. In the second half of game, Monu Goyat too essayed crucial role.

Gujarat Sachin and Rohit put lot of efforts in the game against Patna Pirates to get crucial points but gets unsuccessful to attain any.
