Pantry car employee rapes woman in moving train


A 23-year-old-lady was supposedly assaulted inside a moving train by a pantry car worker on June 9, Government Railway Police (GRP) of Surat enlisted a case on Monday against it.

The incident  occurred on Aravali Express train after the sufferer boarded it from Borivali station and was on way to Jaipur alongside her companion.

On June 9, they both boarded the train and were seated inside an  air-conditioned coach. After the train began moving, the sufferer asked a pantry car employee to help affirm her prepare tickets. The charged recognized as Ajmer Khan (30) consented to help them out. He guided her inside the pantry car and sexually assaulted her.

“Khan asked her to follow him and took her inside the pantry car with him. On finding the lady alone, Khan assaulted her inside the moving train,” said a GRP official from Surat.

The GRP authorities said that the complaint was lodged by the sufferer companion who did not wished to be named.

The episode occurred amongst Surat and Bharuch stations in Gujarat. At first the case was enrolled at GRP Jaipur and later transferred to Surat GRP. Khan was captured under the section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“The case was first enrolled at GRP Jaipur on Monday and was later transferred to GRP Surat. We will capture Khan once he reaches Surat on Wednesday,” said the authority.

The sufferer is from Uttar Pradesh and was making a trip to Jaipur for some personal work.
