Pakistan alerts Punjab of terror attack at Wagah border

A letter was sent to the Punjab Home Secretary by the Pakistan National Counter Terrorism Authority which stated that terror group will target the parade at Wagah border which will be held between August 13-15.

Punjab Home Secretary said, “Atleast two suicide bombers have been sent to carry out the attack and suggested extreme vigilance and heightened security measures to avoid any untoward incident. Security has been stepped up in the Punjab province following the alert.”

A high level meeting was conducted by the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take stock of security situation.

A Conference was also held by Corps commanders at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi yesterday which talked about the measures to counter security challenges.

In context of terror attack in Quetta, Islamabad has heightened the security at sensitive places.
