JAMMU: Indian and Pakistani army carried out heavy firing on Thursday along the LoC in J&K’s Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Pakistan Army started gunfire on Indian troops in Naushera at around 7.20 a.m. and 7.40 a.m. in Krishna Ghati.
“Pakistan Army resorted to mortar shelling and firing on forward posts along the LoC in Nowshera sector in Rajouri district from 0730 hours”, a Defence Spokesman stated.
“The Indian Army posts are retaliating strongly and effectively and the firing is presently on”, he added.
On Sunday, the Army carried out infiltration bid in Krishnagati sector of Poonch that killed an intruder.
On May 17, Pakistan Army had let go on forward posts along the LoC in Balakote area in Rajouri locale.
The Pakistan Army had shelled forward territories and non-military personnel belts along the LoC in Rajouri area on May 15 and 16.
The shelling by the Pakistan Army in May this year has influenced more than 12,000 individuals.

The Home Ministry in RTI answer had said that no less than one episode of truce infringement by Pakistan occurred day by day along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir in 2015 and 2016 in which 23 security staff lost their lives.
