Over 11.36 lakh students to appear for UPSC IAS Prelims examination tomorrow


The examination of Union Public Service Commission will be held tomorrow i.e August 7.  Over 11.36 lakhs candidates will appear for the exam from various centres. 

52,000 candidates will appear from Chandigarh and Ludhiana for the prelims exam which will be conducted at 127 centres.

Results of NEET Phase 1 and Phase 2 to be declared on 17th August

List of candidates:

  1. In Chandigarh, 40,000 candidates from Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh will take the exam across 96 centres
  2. While 11,558 candidates will appear at 31 centres in 21 educational institutions in Ludhiana
  3. About 1,012 Chandigarh Police cops have been deployed for security at the 96 centres
  4. At each centre, around 1,100 invigilators have been appointed in Ludhiana, besides government officials.

The examination is conducted every year in two phases – UPSC prelims and UPSC mains. The preliminary examination consists of multiple choice questions (MCQ).

Important instructions to be followed:

Revise all the important topics: Just before the examination, the aspirants must not start with a new topic. Revise the books (or, study materials/class notes) that you already have gone through before.  

Negative marking: Beware of negative marking during the examination; mark an answer only if you are completely confident about it. If you just make wild guesses, it may lead to negative marking.

Important instructions: Read the instructions carefully before writing the exam and try to complete the exam within the restricted time.
