Orlando airport closed after suspicious armed man found; no one injured


ORLANDO, Florida: An armed man was found at the Orlando International Airport on Tuesday. He was immediately taken into custody for about three-hour standoff.

Till now, nobody has been wounded but the horrifying circumstances led to confusion and ambiguity as passengers shared a video and photographs online that showcased the police officials at the airport along with their weapons.

“Gunman is in custody. Everyone is safe,” Orlando police shared.

Glorializ Colon Plaza, 20, told the Orlando Sentinel she was simply getting off work from Virgin Atlantic carriers when she saw everybody covering up. She got off the lift and saw the man on the floor close to the rental auto region. He was shouting, and cops had encompassed him.

“I couldn’t make out the words, however he was shouting truly noisy,” she said. “Everybody there revealed to me just before this happened a man said to everybody: will require mental treatment after this,’ then he hauled out a weapon and everybody ran.”

Plaza stated, she didn’t pay attention to any gunshots or see anyone wounded.

“I saw all the cops with the long rifles and started shaking,” she said. “It didn’t seem real.”

Authorities stated, an Alaska man lost the lives of five people within a baggage claim area at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The matter came to limelight at the Orlando airport at around 7:24 p.m. The complete terminal was in the end shut down.

The photographs shared on social media demonstrated heavy police existence in the area and travelers were anxious about missing flights. Earlier, The Florida Highway Patrol tweeted that all roads to the airport were closed down.
