Oppo India launched its Diwali Limited Edition of its Oppo F1s smartphone on Thursday. Sporting the same Rs. 17,990 price tag as the original, the smartphone will go up for pre-orders from Oppo Concept Stores from October 8 to October 13, and will go up for sale on October 14 via Snapdeal.

The Oppo F1s Diwali Limited Edition smartphone is identical in terms of specifications with the original Oppo F1s smartphone that was launched in India in August. However, it features a redesigned rear panel with a ‘gilded Diwali pattern’ or a flame, alongside signatures from brand ambassadors Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor. The limited edition smartphone comes with Diwali Elements theme that bears special icons amongst other changes.

What really sets it apart, the company said in last Tuesday’s media preview, is the exceptional quality of its front camera for selfies — 16 megapixels with a large sensor.

It is because of that feature that Oppo markets the F1s as the “selfie expert.” Apart from the formidable camera, the Oppo F1s ships with a Beautify app, built-in photo filters, screen flash and palm shutter and voice shot.

The phone’s rear camera is 13 megapixels. The demand for the unit was such that two days after it was made available in August in Philippine stores, 19,000 units were sold all over the country. The phone retails for P12,990.

The F1s has an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory with an expansion slot for a memory card of up to 128GB. It is a dual-SIM phone with both slots having LTE capability.

The F1s comes with a 3075 mAH battery to power the device for an entire day of use. The 5.5-inch phone comes with a Corning Glass display in a sleek design.

The F1s runs ColorOS, which is based on Android.

A key feature of the phone is its fingerprint scanner, which unlocks the device in 0.22 seconds, which the company said is the fastest in the market. You can also assign each of your 5 fingers to quickly launch different apps or contacts.
