On Monday the 22-yr-old Indian shuttler PV Sindhu thanked Sports Ministry for the suggestion for being nominated for the nation’s third highest civilian honour — Padma Bhushan award.
Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu further conveyed that I am very contented that my name has been suggested for the Padma Bhushan award.
I would deeply like to thank the administration and the sports ministry. Sindhu joined previous India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the second sportsperson to be selected for the prestigious award in present year.
World Championship medal scorer Sindhu has been relentless ever as flattering the first Indian to win silver at the Rio Games previous year.
Hyderabad based shuttler settled the 2016 China Open Super Series Premier, India Open Super Series, carried historic silver at the Glasgow World Championship previous month prior to leading her third Super Series win at Korea Open this month. Sindhu in March 2015 was awarded India’s fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri.
