Odisha: Fire breaks out at Hotel Owner’s Residence, 4 dead


BHUBANESWAR:  A heavy fire occurred at the residence of a restaurant owner in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Thursday that takes the lives of four of his family members. The fire brigade reached to the spot immediately to douse the flames.

The proprietor of Pal Heights Hotel, Satpal Singh got wounded in the firing but his two sons, Gaganpal Singh and Bhabana Singh lost lives on the spot.

“The fire took place at around 4 am. During the firing, a security guard downstairs was sleeping while Satpal Singh and his family were sleeping on the ground floor. They didn’t know there was fire on the first and second floor,” RC Majhi, Deputy Fire Officer stated.

When Satpal’s neighbour came to know about the fire, he immediately told the matter to Police Control Room. Then, PCR cautioned the fire brigade.

Several people collected outside the residence of hotelier’s house as fire-fighters made attempt to control the flames.

As per the media, a forensic department authorities reached to the area on Thursday and begin the probe.
