Chairman of the Wadia group of companies Nusli Wadia who is also an Independent Director on the Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Tata Chemicals boards has sent a defamation notice to Tata Sons saying that its special notice to sack him from the Tata Steel board had lowered his image.
In a special notice to remove him from Tata Steel board, Tata Sons had said Wadia was galvanising other independent directors against the Tata group. In his reply to the notice, Wadia said the allegations in the Tata Sons’ notice were made with the intention of harming his reputation.

Wadia gave two days' an ideal opportunity to Tata Sons to pull back its unique notice, coming up short which he would start common and criminal procedures against the Tata Sons board, said the notice.

This is the principal legitimate test to the notice sent by the Tatas to evacuate Wadia and previous executive of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry from the sheets of Tata organizations as a chief.

"Tata have set out on an individual quarrel against me," said Wadia's notice to Tata Sons.

Wadia, who is a senior free executive on the three organizations and the director of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of all the three organizations, had given a decent give an account of Cyrus Mistry and was purportedly troubled with the way Mistry was evacuated on October 24 by the Tata Sons board.
