Now Central Govt employees can fly to Kashmir on LTC


New Delhi: “To boost the tourism in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, the Government has decided to extend the facility to travel by any airlines to visit Jammu & Kashmir on LTC, under Special Dispensation Scheme for Central Government employees, for a period of two years beyond 25.09.2016,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance today.

In 2014, the Centre had eased LTC rules to allow employees to travel by by Air India to visit JK, northeastern states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The central government later allowed travel by private airlines to JK under a special scheme.

The initial scheme,which expired in November 2015 was first extended to Sep 25, 2016 and now further extended for two more years.
