The note ban decision has not affected the prices of essential commodities: Ram Vilas Paswan


The note boycott choice has not influenced the costs of 22 basic items, including foodgrains, the Lok Sabha was educated today.

Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said changes in costs of the 22 things including heartbeats, onion and tomato opposite upon the arrival of demonetisation are being observed once a day.

Around 3.89 lakh ton of wheat, 184.45 lakh ton of rice and 10.45 lakh ton of pulses have been acquired from farmers since demonetisation, he said reacting to supplementaries amid the Question Hour.

Between November 2016 and February, experts in states have done 17,506 attacks under the Essential Commodities Act, captured 1524 individuals, arraigned 837 and confined 46 dark marketeers. Of these, 163 were indicted.

Products worth over Rs 4 crore were confiscated amid these assaults, the minister said.
