New Delhi: Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday said the government was not tinkering with the provisions for reservation or minority education institutions.
After Opposition in Rajya Sabha on Thursday slammed the draft as one lifted out of RSS documents, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday said only inputs or comments have been sought on a draft for which the deadline too has been extended till September 15.
The upper house had taken up a debate on the National Education Policy on Thursday, but Javadekar could not reply during the day Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien said the discussion could continue in the next session.
As members pressed for the minister's response, Javadekar said the government will extend the time for submitting suggestions for the education policy.
"We want suggestions from everybody. I will extend the date for submitting suggestions till September 15," Javadekar said. "We believe in democracy, we believe that education must give whatever is required to live life successfully," he said.
