No change in rules for online tickets, tatkal timings and other services says Railway Ministry


New Delhi: Railway Ministry has issued a explanation on certain messages being circulated on social media, saying there will be no change take place in Railway rules in relation with waitlisted tickets, Tatkal bookings and many other services from July 1.

According to the railway ministry the report in respect with changes in railway rules and facilities are incorrect and baseless. "Railways has been selling waitlisted tickets both through online (e-ticket) and PRS counters. There is no change in this scheme and railway will continue to sell waitlisted tickets through both online and PRS counter, statement said.

Railway also said that Suvidha Class of Trains will continue to run. "The waitlisted ticket in such trains is also available, if required. Provision of partial refund in case of Suvidha Train Tickets is available right from the beginning of the scheme", statement further said.

The ministry also said there has been no change in rail ticket refund rules that were put in place in November 2015, and that applies to refunds for Tatkal tickets as well. "Under the existing rule, no refund is granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets or duplicate tatkal ticket," it said.
