With the rise of tension along the Line of Control (LoC) after frequent terrorist infiltrations and cease-fire violations, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed support towards the Narendra Modi-led Central government’s steps against terrorism.
“We shouldn’t get so anxious on matters related to border. The whole nation is united. The Indian Army has enough power to handle it,” he said. Kumar said that in such matters, differing political ideologies were not going to help and that his party is with the centre in this situation.
“In matters related to terrorism, contradictory political views won’t help. We are with the Centre. All the necessary steps are being taken,” the Bihar CM said. Nitish Kumar had, after the surgical strikes, congratulated the government on Twitter for the decisive action against terrorism.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated a notch higher after the terrorists attacked the battalion headquarters of 46 Rashtriya Rifles at stadium colony in North Kashmir’s Baramulla. One BSF jawan was martyred in the attack. The terrorists are likely to have escaped taking advantage of night cover.
