JAIPUR: Suspected IS fund raiser Jamil Ahmed to be questioned about sprawling hawala racket through which he allegedly funded IS leaders in Syria and Iraq by the officials of the National Investigation Agency(NIA) and Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
ADJ Umesh Mishra said that as of now, the investigation group is attempting to recover the computerized information from Ahmed’s tablets and mobile phones so as to get to the number of individuals he was in contact with. “Ahmed’s system spread crosswise over Dubai, Bhangladesh and India. He was knowledgeable with technology like encryption and so forth, he had erased a couple of call records before coming to Fatehpur in Sikar,” Mishra said.
After he was arrested by the ATS from Fatehpur on Wednesday, Ahmed told the sleuths that he was in direct touch with leading Islamic State contenders in Syria and Iraq. “Ahmed had moved up the step quick in the gathering. He was a trusted fundraiser for the terror group. So much in this way, that he himself had amassed property to the tune of Rs 5 crore in Mumbai,” sources said.
