Former Indian Batsman Sourav Ganguly asserted in an interview on Saturday that the selection of new Indian coach will be done in Mumbai on July 10 by Cricket Advisory Committee.
‘God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar and former right-handed batsman VVS Laxman has been given chance by Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) to pick the new coach. “The interview will be held on July 10 in Mumbai,” Ganguly stated.
The applications regarding the new Indian coach can be sent last by July 9. Till now, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh has selected former India team director Ravi Shastri for this position.
When Ganguly was inquired what type of coach he is searching for, he affirmed, “One who can win cricket matches.”
Recently, Anil Kumble resigned from the position of Indian Coach after the end of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 tournament that took place in England and Wales.
Ganguly believed that “the issue between Kumble and Kohli should have been treated a lot better, by whoever in accuse. It was not handled correctly.”
Recently, Ravi Shastri has submitted an application to become Indian coach. Earlier also he applied for the same position but Kumble was selected before him. After that, Shastri had taken jab at Ganguly and asserted that the former India captain requested for Kumble to reinstate him and persuaded the other panel members including Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman.
