Neil Nitin Mukesh Chand Mathur better known as Neil Nitin Mukesh is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi-language films. He is the son and grandson of singers. Neil made his debut as an adult in Sriram Raghavan’s 2007 critically acclaimed thriller Johnny Gaddaar, which earned him a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award nomination. He subsequently earned critical praise for his performance in New York (2009) and Jail (2009); the former earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
His name has been made fun of on social media, but actor Neil Nitin Mukesh says he is proud of it and feels blessed to be born in legendary singer Mukesh’s family. “People make fun of my name, but I am extremely proud. Tell me how many sons actually use their father’s name in today’s time and take their legacy forward,” Neil said.
Neil is the son of veteran singer Nitin Mukesh and grandson of Mukesh. “I am very blessed and honoured to be born in the Mukesh family. I am extremely proud to have my grandfather’s and father’s name on my shoulders,” said the actor, who has recently joined hands with animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India for a campaign against elephant joyrides.
