Mumbai: Police constable injured after female motorist rams into him


A police constable, who was headed to report for duty on Saturday evening, sustained injuries after being hit by a motorist at SV Road, Kandivali West. While the motorist sped off, passersby managed to have a look at the vehicle's number plate.

Constable Ashok Sankhe was headed to the Kandivali police station for duty. He was dressed in plainclothes. A speeding black-coloured Alto hit him. Passersby noticed that a woman was at the wheel of the car. She fled without taking Sankhe to a doctor.

His colleagues at the Kandivali police station rushed Sankhe to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital, which is located opposite the police station. The female motorist could not be identified. The Kandivali police registered a case of rash driving.
