A Mira Road man was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his 15-year-old daughter in May. The abuse came to light when the girl got pregnant and was taken to the hospital.
The Kashimira police said that when the pregnancy was revealed, the girl named her neighbour as the accused. But when the police investigated and found the neighbour to be innocent, she confessed that her 45-year-old father had sexually abused her. She claimed that he raped her after her step-mother left him.
The girl said that her father used to force her to drink country liquor and then rape her. The accused, a labourer, used to stay on construction sites with his wife, the survivor and another daughter.
After a case was filed with Kashimira police and the accused was arrested and later remanded in police custody.
In another case, a 15-year-old girl was sexually abused by the husband of her mother's friend. The survivor, a Mira Road resident, used to accompany her mother to the accused's house. A case has been registered with Naya Nagar police station and the accused has been remanded in police custody.
