The accused identified as Prakash Dsouza will be produced before the Vasai sessions court. According to the Vasai Government Railway Police (GRP) the woman was on platform number 4 at Vasai at around 12.30 pm. She went to the ladies toilet located on platform 4 and 5 at around 12.50 pm.

According to the complainant as she entered the toilet and was about to get into the closet, Dsouza followed her. She pushed him away and ran out of the toilet. She was alone in the toilet.

Dsouza, who has been employed on contract basis by a railway contractor told the police that he had entered the toilet to clean it. He was not aware about a woman's presence inside the toilet. GRP inspector Mahesh Bagwe said that a male sweeper was cleaning the toilet and there was no female attendant to man the toilet. "Dsouza claims that he entered the toilet to clean it and did not know about any woman inside it," said Bagwe.

The complainant stated that Dsouza tried to molest her but she managed to run out of the toilet. The police have summoned the supervisor and contractor as a male sweeper cannot be allowed to clean a ladies toilet. Dsouza has been booked for molestation under section 354 of the IPC.
