The Mumbai-Goa National Highway was on Thursday night shut for movement because of heavy rainfall in Konkan region.
The traffic has been diverted via Kolhapur towards Mumbai from 8.30 pm, police said.
National Highway police control affirmed that the road from Mumbai towards Chiplun is working, while vehicles cannot progress further because of substantial flooding on Jagbudi waterway. The vehicles are diverted from Chiplun towards NH 4 to achieve Kolhapur.
The vehicular movement came at an end at 8.30 pm on Thursday night after the storm heightened. It lead to movement clog at a few focuses where little extensions were submerged.
On the night of August 2, a British period span developed over Savitri waterway on the Mumbai-Goa thruway broken down after which two State Transport transports and some other private vehicles fell into the stream.
