Mumbai: Ex- Indian captain and wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni spells will always be in Indian team. Prior, National selection committee chief MSK Prasad affirmed that he will have to perk up his performance in the 2019 World Cup, but now he believes that Dhoni is the world’s number one wicketkeeper and he must be part of the World Cup.
While declaring the ODI team for touring South Africa, Prasad made it clear that Dhoni is the first choice for the next World Cup.
MS Dhoni has done a fantastic job in the one-day series and Twenty20 matches against Sri Lanka. He is not only out of the batting but also the young wicketkeepers by his performance behind the wicket. Regarding the wicketkeepers, and especially about Dhoni, Prasad said, “We are preparing some wicketkeepers from the tour of India A, but we have decided to keep Dhoni up to the 2019 World Cup. Dhoni is still the world’s number one wicket-keeper. In the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka, he has done amazing stuff as well as a staggering catch. ”
Prasad also says that there is no wicketkeeper like Dhoni in the cricket world.
It may surprise young wicket-keepers like Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson, who were hoping to replace Dhoni. He said, “We will give young wicketkeepers a place in the team of India’s tour and see whether they can improve their performance or not.”
