Most important things to know about Skoda Kodiaq


Skoda Auto Berlin, Germany 2017 Skoda has unveiled Kodiaq. Czech automaker 2016 after the upcoming SUV will launch internationally, and in India, the car is expected to begin in 2017.

Kodiaq Skoda, Skoda Yeti will be positioned above and is based on the concept of dreams. Kodiaq in both five and seven-seat layout and petrol and diesel engines will be introduced.

1.8L, TSI petrol and 2.0 L TDI diesel motor will be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Power latest transverse engine AWD (all-wheel drive system) will be sent to the system by the Volkswagen Group.

It is also expected that the Czech-based car manufacturer will launch a hybrid version of the SUV. As of now, there is no confirmation on this hybrid version being launched in India are likely to be slight.

interior of skoda kodiaqBeing a 7-seater SUV, the Skoda Kodiaq will be longer and wider in terms of dimensions when compared to the Skoda Yeti. The Yeti comes with length of 4222mm, width of 1793mm, and height of 1691mm along with wheelbase of 2578mm. On the other hand, Kodiaq SUV will measure 4700mm in length, 1882mm in width and 1676mm in height with wheelbase of 2791mm.

The all-new Skoda Kodiaq SUV is likely to be equipped with both petrol and diesel engine unlike the Skoda Yeti which is seen with single engine option. Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be powered by 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel which max power of 148Bhp for both the engines. The transmission duties will be carried out by 6-speed DSG unit for both the engine options.

Being Skoda’s next flagship product, the Kodiaq 7-seater SUV will be seen with top class interiors along with high end features to enhance the comfort and convenience factor. Feature-wise, it is expected to get Tow assist, adaptive cruise control, city emergency braking and lane keep assist, large 8-inch touch screen multi-media system and black coloured upholstery.
