Mohammed Shami splits Alastair Cook’s stump into two

New Delhi: England were stumped with the wicket of skipper Alastair Cook with Indian bowler Mohammed Shami spliting the stump into two in Day Two of the second Test.  Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed came out to bat after England had bowled out India for 455 on Day 2 in Visakhapatnam.

Starting India’s proceedings with the ball were seamers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav as Virat Kohli was hoping to strike an early blow with the new ball.

It was just the third over of the match when Mohammed Shami was bowling to English skipper Alastair Cook.

The third ball of the over saw Shami’s delivery deceive Cook, passing through the space between bat and pad.

It was a pretty rare sight in cricket, seeing the stump being broken into two pieces but that does reveal the nature of delivery Shami had bowled.
