CHENNAI: Heavy rain continues to hit Tamil Nadu and nearby areas that paralyzed the normal life of people. This badly affected public and private schools, colleges and institutions crossways Chennai and North Kancheepuram.
As per the MeT reports, the rain will continue for about two days.
“A low pressure has formed over the southwest Bay of Sri Lanka coast. During the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu,” S Balachandran, Director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, stated.
The rainfall will hit south Tamil Nadu and nearby areas.
Moderate rainfall is also predictable in south Tamil Nadu and Cauvery delta districts.
Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami took necessary measures on Thursday as some children died in the flooded water.
Palaniswami carried out deliberations with his cabinet colleagues involving Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and government officials.
“Honourable CM of TN taking stock of situation arising out of #rains (and) giving instructions to Ministers and officers,” Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Agency shared.
CM conducted meeting to take stock of the situation following heavy rainfall in several areas of the southern state.
Vaitheeswarankoil and Sirkazhi area witnessed heavy downpours on Thursday.
Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar expressed commiseration on the demise of two children who lost their lives due to electric shock at Kodungaiyur on Thursday.
