After staying suspended for more than four months, the mobile web sevice were reestablished in the Kashmir Valley on Saturday.
Mobile web sevices were reestablished on all postpaid cell phones from Saturday midnight.
Powers said that the service would be reestablished on prepaid connections after the situation is reviewed in light of its impact on overall law and order situation.
Web services on cell phones had been suspended by the powers on July 9 because of the turmoil following the killing of Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani in a gunfight.
Ever since the day suspension of the service, understudies, professionals and business group have been demanding the restoration of the mobile web services.
Web access on fixed landline connections, which stayed suspended for over a month after July 9, was reestablished earlier this year.
The web service on every single cell phone – both prepaid and postpaid – are already working in the Jammu district of the state.
