Missing Air Force Sukhoi Su-30 Wreckage Found Near China Border


Air jet Sukhoi Su-30 went missing two-three days back near the china border with two pilots on board. Now, the wreckage of aircraft has been recovered today by the officials.

The jet has been discovered in a forested area at about 60 km from Tezpur in Assam. “As of now, weather is bad and the place has dense foliage and members of the search operation are yet to reach the spot,” Defence spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sombit Ghosh stated.

On Tuesday, the incident took place at around 9:30 am in the morning on a daily training foray. It went missing near the Doulasang area of Arunachal Pradesh.

The reports revealed that the pilots very last make contact with the airport officials at around 11:30 am nearly 60 km north of Tezpur.

Sukhoi Su-30 aircraft is a Russian-made aircraft. The incident took place due to bad weather conditions.  The foremost of the Su-30 planes were initiated by the IAF in 1990s. Till now, six IAF aeroplanes hav been crashed. The investigation is in process.

Sukhoi-30 aircraft crashed in March near Rajasthan’s Barmer. The pilots were evacuated from the area during that time.

In 2009, the IAF aircraft was introduced in Tezpur air base. Currently, Tezpur has two squadrons of SU-30 aircraft.
