Microsoft Planner app launched for Android and iOS

Microsoft Planner that was first just available on the Web, however it has now arrived on mobile too. The Microsoft Planner application for Android and iOS has likewise been launched, making managing tasks and planning teamwork activities easier on the go.

The Redmond giant had launched Planner a year ago in June as a feature of its productivity suit of applications for Office 365 business and school clients. Planner is a joint collaboration tool aimed at organising team activities, and works like applications like Trello and Asana. It is packaged along with the Office 365 suite for free, and permits management of projects, teams, workflows, assign tasks, chat with individuals, and a much more.

Presently, the applications are available as a free download too for all eligible Office 365 clients. The application however doesn’t bring all the features that are available on the Web. On its blog, Microsoft clarifies, “Current Planner clients can use this partner application to view and update their plans on the go, addressing feedback we’ve heard since the launch of the Planner Web application. For individuals who are new to Planner, you can first get started by visiting tasks.office.com. Once you’ve made your plans in the Web application, you can view and update those plans in the mobile experience.”

The Microsoft Planner application is fairly simple to use and gives you a chance to see all your tasks in one place. It gives you a chance to update the board when plans change by simply dragging and dropping tasks between columns, and chat with individuals on the go. The application works at present only for Office 365 work or school subscription clients just, and if you’re eligible, you can download the application from the App Store or Google Play Store for free.
